It acts only on the body

All sport includes a complex of physical, bodily exercises or comprise sports games that are practised methodically, mainly to train and energise physical, bodily motor characteristics.

In this way, only the body (annamaya kosha in Sanskrit), is used again and again, and nothing else – the other four invisible, enigmatic layers of the human being are neglected: the enigmatic vital layer (pranamaya kosha in Sanskrit), the enigmatic mental layer (manomaya kosha in Sanskrit); the enigmatic supramental layer (vijnanamaya kosha in Sanskrit); and the enigmatic layer of bliss (anandamaya kosha in Sanskrit).

By practising various sports, human beings can thus be brought into and then held in a lower state of consciousness or even in an animal, brutal condition. This makes them inferior, lethargic, sleepy, passive, shallow, obtuse, selfish, apathetic, indifferent and uncivilised.

Such inferior states appear without warning and then grow and intensify in the microcosm of human beings who passionately practise competitive sport. The flaws and defects that performance sport subsequently unleashes in the universe of human beings are usually overlooked, and the vast majority of human beings who play sports never notice them, even though such disastrous effects do occur and their sinister consequences are cumulative.

No time left for intellectual development

Some God-inspired thinkers have rightly stated that sport definitely dumbs down the human beings who practise it.

The quoted saying stresses that an inappropriate approach to physical activity through sport can lead to over-prioritisation of sport or neglect of education. If a competitive athlete prioritises the practice of sport to the complete detriment of education and intellectual development, this can lead to gaps in knowledge and intellectual skills, and under such conditions, a life imbalance can occur.

An exclusive focus on sport, without time for study, learning and other forms of personal transformation, can limit a person’s perspective and intellectual growth.

The sporting environment promotes a narrow vision

The sporting environment can often be an inappropriate environment due to excessive pressure to achieve. In an environment that values only results and performance, without encouraging education, the development of good, healthy character or emotional well-being, athletes can develop a narrow view of success and personal worth. Performance sport can easily slip into a one-dimensional culture.

A sport environment that promotes harmful stereotypes or discourages exploration of interests and abilities outside of sport can limit an athlete’s holistic development. The exclusive valuing of physical skills can lead to neglecting the importance of intellectual development and social skills, so that distorted perceptions of the importance and usefulness of education and knowledge can arise, setting the stage for unhealthy states of stupidity.

Directly contributes to the extension and generalization of stupidity

Paradoxically, stupidity is now far greater in the ambiance of this planet than it was 100 years ago. In this growth and amplifying of general, growing stupidity on this planet, sporting activities, including and especially those involving and mobilising masses of human beings, such as football matches that are broadcast on television and that thus generate lower processes of occult resonance in the inner universe of many millions of human beings, contribute greatly to the intensifying of the state of stupidity.

It is often said that football is a king sport, but this king sport is only the king of those who are taken over by the foolish choice to manifest as ‘football fans’.

It is sometimes said that a ‘national sport’ exists, and this expression is used to describe a sporting activity in which a nation excels. And it is often said that even ‘trade’ can be a favourite sport of those who become preoccupied with it.
