The term “egregor” comes from the Greek word egrḗgoros, which in translation means “wakeful”.

In its subtle, mysterious reality, each egregor, whether an eminently beneficial egregor or an inferior, evil egregor, is a sui generis structure that includes modulated manifestations, both psychological and modulated manifestations that are psycho-emotional. A certain egregor arises and is, so to speak, nourished through the energies that are manifested by human beings who group together and engage themselves in unison in a certain direction. The power of an egregor’s mystical sphere of force is closely related to the number of people who actively participate in the group.

A fundamental esoteric aspect that is true for every egregor, including an eminently spiritual egregor, is that when such an egregor is generated and then fed again and again, so to speak, and thus grows and expands, the principle of occult multiplication comes into action.

Therefore it is not only the members of that group who nourish and then gradually grow and expand the sphere of power of that egregor, but also the mysterious sphere of power of that egregor operates a corresponding subtle influence on every member of that group which once gave birth to that egregor in the beginning.

When the occult sphere of power of that egregor is very large or enormous, in cases where the number of members in that group is very large, the occult force of influence and even of subtle shaping of the members of that group increases a surprising amount.

An egregor, either beneficial or evil, is like a computer or a high-performance laptop, which works in close connection with the programs that have been previously included in it. It is impossible for an evil egregor to exert even partial beneficial influences; and it is equally impossible for an eminently beneficial egregor to exert any evil influence at all. It is for this reason that we must be very cautious in deciding to join a particular group.

The convictions and conceptions held by the members of a particular group reveal to us the beneficial or evil direction that characterizes the group in which we are invited to participate.
